September 12, 2019

Representatives from the City and your Bargaining Unit had a productive discussion regarding the school's budget, school funding, the City's reserve account, and most importantly your salary.

Your negotiators brought forth a proposal to increase salaries for all teachers hired during the 2018-2019 school year. The proposal suggests a $3000 increase for grandfathered teachers which would yield either a $2812 or $3750 increase for annual contract teachers based on their most current evaluation (effective or highly effective).

Three thousand dollars is based on a 2.8% cost of living increase for 2019 and a 2.5% raise in salary, something that has not been available to Pines Charter Teachers since 2012. Figures were calculated using our median teacher income.

We are anticipating a response from the City Commission early in October.
